Avoid Feeling Burnt Out On Life With This One Consideration

I wanted to share a very touching story from someone inside Banana (our membership support group) who opened up to me about an extremely stressful phase of life she was in.

As a young mom to a toddler, she was finding it overwhelming juggling all-of-the-things with parenting, being a wife, having a crazy work schedule, picking up extra shifts, working nights, days… stressing out about meal prepping, hitting the gym, drinking water… the list goes on.

She was exhausted and depleted.

She originally reached out to me asking for help with meal planning. She was beginning to feel defeated, helpless, and tempted to give up.

After some time chit chatting together, we realized that there was a bigger problem going on.

She was burning herself out because of her work schedule.

The amount of time she was spending at work was totally throwing her work-life balance out of whack. It was compromising her health, relationships, and mental well-being.

A few months later, she reached out to me and told me some big news.

She had interviewed for a new job and landed a sweet new gig with a more relaxed schedule to go with it!

Here’s her message to me:

Sometimes when we feel like we’re starting to burn out on life, we need to take a step back and reflect on the bigger picture.

How are we spending the majority of our time?

If most of our time is absorbed in our work schedule, we may have to take a hard look at this and truly consider other options.

Can you work less?
Do you have to consider other job options?

I know this can be VERY anxiety provoking. It may even keep you up at night thinking about the conversation you’ll need to have with your boss and the worry that comes with transitioning into a new job.

BUT…

You only have one life to live, and you are in control of the change you want to see in your life.

It’s not easy, but it will be worth it.

If you can relate to this Banana member’s story, then I highly encourage you to consider the toll that your current job is having on all other areas in your life.

It may be time to make a big change in your life.

Now, if this is making you feel extremely overwhelmed and stressed about making this decision alone, I encourage you to find sanctuary inside a warm and welcoming bariatric family- Banana Bariatrics.
