Trauma, Emotion Regulation and Obesity Support Group

Topic: “The role of trauma and emotion regulation in managing obesity”

Dr. Kristin Lloyd, PhD is a devoted wife and mother in addition to having a passion for helping others heal. It was in the year following her son’s birth that she knew she had to tackle her own lifelong battle with obesity which led her to a high-weight in the 420s (pounds). Feeling shame and failure, she took a life altering step and underwent the gastric sleeve procedure in 2013. In the months and years following, she, like many other bariatric patients, experienced the mental and emotional struggles that emerge following weight loss surgery. Determined to be the change, she used her background and education in psychology to find the emotional/mental and sociocultural root causes that drive emotional eating and difficulties many have with making permanent lifestyle changes. At 9 years post-op, Kristin practices the same skills, tools, and techniques that she teaches others and as a result has lost regain, and is maintaining a 200+ pound weight loss.

She has two Amazon bestselling books, “Bariatric Mindset Success”, and “Release Your Regain” – both of which can be found on Amazon and Audible. For more information on Dr. Kristin’s programs, freebies, and offerings, you can find her at www.bariatricmindsetsuccess.com
