Looking for support and accountability to help you maintain your progress?

Over the months (and years), life has hit you with some significant stressors. You may have started to slip back into some emotional or binge eating tendencies to help you cope through feelings of stress, anxiety, and other emotions. You know what you need to do to get back on track, but your stomach lets you get away with eating all of the “feel good” foods that contribute to weight regain.

You’d go back to your surgeon’s office for extra support but you may be feeling embarrassed or worried that they’ll judge you for any weight regain you’ve experienced since seeing them last.

Or…maybe you’d go to the office but have since moved and no longer live locally.

Or… you may not want to go back to your bariatric team of providers because you feel disconnected and abandoned by them altogether…

So instead, you head to social media for support. When online, you search for others who can offer positive support and encouragement but find it challenging to foster close connections with others in the virtual space that feels genuine, sincere, and supportive.

Perhaps you have a few people in your personal circle who know you’ve had weight loss surgery but they’re not supporting you in the way you need help and accountable. Or…maybe you haven’t told anyone about your surgery and you have no one to support you at all.

If any of these things ring true to you, know this: We’re here for you.

  • We’re here for you regardless of which behaviors you’ve slipped back into since having your surgery
  • We’re here for you despite weight regain (even if it’s everything you’ve lost from surgery)
  • We’re here to make you feel welcomed, supported, loved, and cared for
  • We’re here to help you become successful at losing AND maintaining weight
  • We’re here to help you feel re-inspired, motivated, and back-on-track toward living the life you’ve always imagined
As a means to do so, we have created a plethora of courses, weekly Live support group calls (by bariatric clinicians), and a family-style support community inside of our membership support group called Banana Bariatrics. Continue scrolling down to learn more!

We know that staying on track is important to you

So we created a nutritional "One Stop Shop" course to help you feel back in the driver's seat of your personal health and weight loss goals.

In our Nutritional Mastermind course, you'll dive deep into:

Bariatric Basics

Refresh your memory of the standardized bariatric guidelines around serving sizes, macronutrients, and the importance of drinking water after weight loss surgery (WLS).

Sugar is everywhere! You'll begin to understand the importance of limiting sugar-sweetened beverages, how juice and smoothies can impact your weight loss after surgery, why sugar is so addicting, and the effects that aspartame has on your body.

How to "eat clean"

Understand why consuming minimally processed food is so important for your long-term health and wellness, decipher nutrition labels with a bariatric eye, practice making healthier swaps in your pantry, and restock your entire kitchen with healthy foods.

Meal Planner Template

Download our 17 page Meal Planner Template that will serve as a guide to teach you HOW to organize and plan meals for the week. Along the way, you'll work on your mindset around meal planning, add in a variety of meals to your weekly menu, stay consistent with your efforts, and address snacking with our helpful 80:20 strategy.

Cooking & Meal Planning

Explore helpful bariatric recipes and cookbooks, watch an entire cooking demonstration from one of our Bariatric Dietitians, and learn how to make modifications when cooking for one, eating low carb, repurposing meals, and adjusting recipes based on the bariatric staged diet you're in. In addition, you'll learn how to choose healthy items at fast food joints and restaurants when you're eating out with friends and family.

Having a bariatric buddy (and family!) will not only sky rocket your success, but will help you stay consistent, accountable, and above all- HAVING FUN (imagine that!?) as you continue to navigate on your weight loss surgery journey. We'll invite you to join our membership support group called Banana Bariatrics.

It was this life-changing condition that opened his eyes to the role that nutrition plays in health and disease and inspired him to learn how to use nutrition to improve the health and well being of others.

Kyle believes in treating patients like family and will do anything and everything in his power to ensure they receive the care they deserve. To this end, Kyle takes full responsibility for patient care and encourages patients to always contact him directly with any questions or concerns they may have.

“It’s great to be able to reach out to whomever, whenever and even if they are across the country or around the corner, you feel like they are right there with you. Now, couple that with the fact that we all have the same thing in common, share the same struggles and celebrate the same successes, there’s no other feeling like it!”

Dianna C.

Gastric Bypass 04/2009

“I don’t have a lot of people I talk to about my surgery. This group allows me to speak openly without fear of being judged. Everyone is at all different stages of their journey, but there is always someone who can help. I can’t tell you how nice it is to know I’m not alone. The people in this group are so supportive and have excellent ideas. It was a no-brainer that I wanted to be a part of this.”

“It is nice to have a place that is all about positive and uplifting attitude during this journey. I actually left all the other FB groups I was in because of all the negative and bashing that was going on. We need positive communication, education, mindfulness and fun!!”

You ask, we answer

We often get asked these common questions about Banana Bariatrics. Have a question not answered here? Simply email us at: [email protected]

Yes, Banana Bariatrics is our exclusive (paid) membership support group that is separate from our free Facebook Group: Bariatric Weight Loss Support Group. But you’ll often see sneak-peeks inside Banana and engagement from active Banana members within our FB Group, so there is some overlap there!

We offer a few different membership options to meet your budget.

Our most basic membership is our “Back On Track” Membership at just $10/ month. If you’re looking to dabble in 1 monthly Live support group per month and have access to the replay, this is for you.

Our “All Access Membership” gives your EVERYTHING: direct access to bariatric clinicians for your most pressing questions, an “in” to our Private Banana Facebook group, our entire content library and Replay vault of EVERY support group we’ve had since inception, and MUCH more. You can come inside and look around for a week for only $1.

If you’re looking for the best value, we encourage you to join our “Annual” Membership, which saves you 2 months of membership ($98 savings!).

You can find all of our membership options and pricing details here. (Pricing is subject to increase)

If you have any extraordinary financial circumstances, please reach out to us at [email protected] to see how we can help.

Banana member Carmelita adds:

“Being a part of Banana is an investment in yourself! The connectivity to great people and family is amazing!”

If you enjoy being a part of Banana, we always encourage upgrading to our Annual membership. This is our best value subscription level and will save you 2 months of subscription costs each year!

Banana member Dianna had initial concerns about how well she’d fit into the group with it being online. She now says:

“BANANA is a HUGE part of my life!  I wouldn’t trade it for anything! I’m drawing closer to others each time we have a meeting. It’s AMAZING!”

Banana member Jill had similar worries prior to starting, and now adds:

“I feel like I have a home of help and understanding. The group of people are here to help and encourage us with no judgment.”

We know it can be intimidating joining a group of people, but not to fear- there are lots of introverts inside! And…*they come out of their shells* (GASP!)

If others can feel comfortable peeking their head out and participating inside Banana, we have no doubt you’ll find the courage to do so too.

And if you ever have anything personal or private to share, you can always reach us at [email protected]. We’re only a click away.

It is not uncommon to waffle back and forth between; “Do I have the time for this?” with “…But I know I need something going forward and I could really use the extra support.”

At Banana, ANY amount of time you spend with us is time well spent toward your health and wellness goals.

That’s why Banana focuses on 3 different ways to help you on your health journey: SUPPORT, CONNECTION, and EDUCATION.

Banana Bariatrics offers:

1) Daily accountability and connection inside our Private FB Group and with our (optional) Banana Teams participation. We have a spectrum of Banana Teams; from competitive groups to “Just For Fun” groups!

2) Flexible support with Support Group Replays. If life is crazy and you can’t make the Live support groups- no biggie! Catch all of the calls in our Replay vault whenever you want.

3) Education on your own time with a Library vault full of content. Learn at a time that works best for your schedule and at your own pace- no interaction with others required!

At Banana, we never want you to feel bad or guilty about the amount of time you spend with us. We understand that life can be hectic and busy and that’s okay! We’re here to support you in a variety of different ways and will never judge or embarrass you based on how much time you can commit to your membership.

So if you’re Hmm’ing and Haaa’ing over whether you have the time to commit to joining Banana… well… (*cough cough*) you’re spending a few minutes reading this response which is all it takes inside Banana. We’ve got your back and we can’t wait to help support you and your health goals!
